My PLN and Learning Growth
My PLN includes social media and online tools. I use platforms such as LinkedIn and YouTube to learn new ideas, read articles by educators, and participate in online discussions. These networks help me understand different teaching styles, acquire new skills, and support my goal of becoming a better learner and future teacher.
In Canada, many educators utilize PLN for career development. For instance, Chris Kennedy shares his thoughts on learning and leadership on his blog. His articles demonstrate how teachers can utilize online networks to share knowledge and improve teaching, which helps to integrate personal learning with practical teaching practices.
Artificial intelligence is also becoming a part of my PLN. AI tools can help find information more quickly, explain concepts, and even assist with writing. This makes learning more convenient, especially for students who need additional help. However, many teachers are unsure about how to use AI correctly. They are worried about issues such as cheating, overuse, and a decline in critical thinking skills.
My PLN also has its advantages. Firstly, it enables me to access numerous ideas from different people. Secondly, it is easy to use and available anytime and anywhere. Thirdly, the artificial intelligence tools can assist in learning and save time. However, it also has some drawbacks. Sometimes, the information may be unreliable. Not all voices are included, so there may be a lack of diversity. Moreover, excessive use of artificial intelligence can lead people to rely on it and lack deep thinking.
Accessibility is another important aspect. PLN enables more people to learn, even if they are in different locations. However, not everyone has equal access to technology or internet resources, which can lead to inequality.
In conclusion, my personal learning network has helped me grow and learn in many ways. It connects me with others and provides me with useful resources. However, I need to use it carefully, especially when using artificial intelligence. I should verify the information, think critically, and use artificial intelligence in a responsible manner. This will help me become a better learner and future educator.
